Frequently Asked Questions
How does ordering work on your website?
When you submit an order, you’re placing a request, not completing a purchase. At checkout, you’ll choose one of our available pickup dates, and we’ll review your order to confirm availability. If accepted, you’ll receive an invoice to complete your purchase.
Here’s how weekly pickup works:
-
Fridays (Weeks 2 & 4) are for porch pickup in Madison, AL (4–6 p.m.) with our full bakery menu — including breads, muffins, cookies, and pantry items.
-
Thursdays (Weeks 1 & 3) are for local markets, and you must order from the matching market menu for that event. Market menus are more limited due to space and prep time.
Prefer porch pickup during a market week? Just leave a note at checkout—we’ll label your order and have it waiting on the porch before we leave.
What if I forget to order?
It happens! Because we bake everything fresh to order, we can’t take last-minute requests once prep is underway.
If you find yourself missing out often, consider a subscription—you’ll get a bundle every other Friday (Week 2 or Week 4) without having to remember to reorder.
Do you ever have extras after markets or baking days?
Not usually. We bake to meet the exact number of preorders and stock our table for each market. This keeps our small-batch system efficient, fresh, and low-waste.
Occasionally, there are a few extras after markets and I’ll post them on social media when available. You're welcome to message me the evening of a market or the following morning to check. After 24 hours, I don’t sell baked goods to ensure everything stays as fresh as possible.
When and where do I pick up my order?
Pickup options depend on the week:
-
Porch Pickup: Fridays (Weeks 2 & 4), 4–6 p.m. in Madison, AL
-
Market Pickup: Thursdays (Weeks 1 & 3), at our booth during the local market
Pickup details are listed on the collection or product page. Still unsure? Send us a message—we’re happy to help!
Do you offer delivery?
We don’t currently offer delivery, but we’re happy to coordinate meet-up pickups at Blue Apple Books in downtown Madison upon request. Just let us know when placing your order if that works better for you!
Please note: Meeting at Blue Apple is subject to availability. While I do my best to accommodate, there are times our schedule may prevent me from arranging a meetup.
Do you offer shipping?
We’re a home-based Alabama cottage bakery and cannot ship our products. Everything is local pickup only.
When do I need to place my order?
Order at least 4 days in advance or by Sunday night before a Thursday market.
That means:
-
For Thursday Market Pickup → order by Sunday
-
For Friday Porch Pickup → order by Monday night, at the latest
Do you take custom orders?
We take custom requests when time and ingredients allow, based on our existing bakery menu (bulk cookie boxes, alternate muffin flavors, etc.).
Send us a message with your idea—we’re always open to special requests when we can make it happen!
Are your baked goods corn-free?
Yes — every item we make is 100% corn-free, including ingredients like:
-
Corn syrup
-
Corn starch
-
Cornmeal
-
Corn-based baking powders
We also carefully screen ingredient labels to avoid hidden sources. Clean, simple, trusted ingredients are at the heart of what we do.
